Agnes Kavindu , Muthama’s ex-wife narrates how the Machakos senator has taken her through hell

Details have emerged that Johnstone Muthama- the Machakos Senator is treating his immediate ex-wife in a very inhumane manner. The woman, Agnes Kavindu Muthama, who invited human rights activists and journalists to her home narrated how she has stayed without electricity or water in her house for a whole month. She says that she fetches drinking and bathing water from a swimming pool in the compound.

Agnes Kavindu told the journalists that she has obtained a court order barring Muthama from evicting her from the house where she has lived for the past 18 years. She also narrated how the Machakos Senator has made sure that she is locked inside the home’s compound with no one, even her closest friends or relatives, allowed to visit her.

She also told the journalists that whenever she comes home in a taxi, its not allowed to go past the main gate, and she has to alight and walk almost a km to the house. She has been through this routine for a month. From last week, things got more out of hand when she found garbage right at the doorstep of the house’s main entrance. Her furniture was also taken away and the water and power lines disconnected.

 

Agnes claims that all this drama has been caused by her son Moses Nduya,  pictured with his father above,  who later gave orders and sent people to evict the human rights activists and journalists while they were conducting the interview with his mother. They were roughed up and locked inside the residence for more than three hours where they were later rescued by policemen and recorded statements at the Machakos police station.

When contacted, Muthama admitted that the two were once married but divorced through a court process in 1983. He however denied having any hand in his ex-wife’s current tribulations
