President Uhuru Kenyatta to pay for Fidelis Muthoni’s medical bill
/President Uhuru Kenyatta has come to the rescue of Fidelis Muthoni, the little girl who is suffering from a frontal bone defect known as frontal Encephalocele.
Fidelis Muthoni was supposed to undergo treatment in Canada on Wednesday, but this din’t happen because her uncle (Wanjau Alejandro) ran away with Sh 2.8 Million which was supposed to cater for her flight and other expenses for 6 months.
Muthoni’s family said a team of doctors from Canada had offered to treat her for free if they paid for her flight and six-month stay.

Joseph Wanjau (Alejandro), through his NGO, Hope Foundation, helped raise the Sh 2.8 Million so as Fidelis would travel to Canada. He had opened an account with Equity bank and an Mpesa paybill number. A week before Baby Fidelis’ journey to her free treatment, Wanjau went missing. He was however arrested on Thursday in Westlands, Nairobi.
“The paybill account number transcripts that we got from Safaricom indicated that Sh2.8 million had been deposited into the account and later withdrawn,” said Fidel Muthoni’s father Kenneth Kinuthia. He also said that part of that money was his Sh 155,000 which he got from friends and his personal savings
The family had been given until Monday to travel to Canada for the free treatment. The doctors have been forced to fix another date for Fidelis’ surgery.
The bank accounts of Hope Foundation have been frozen and Fidelis’ paybill number suspended. Murang’a county police commander Naomi Ichami has said that only Sh 173,000 was found in the frozen accounts. The Mpesa account was empty
Arrest of Wanjau Alejandro

Wanjau Alejandro Arrested
According to Ndun’gu Nyoro, one of the people who helped the police in arresting Alejandro, it took two days of planning and laying down a perfect trap:
Wanja Kinyanjui and I set a trap for him. We were to bail him out with Kshs. 1M for him to urgently pay Baby Fidelis flight etc.
To win his trust we asked him to change his sim card allegedly because detectives are on his case. We also asked him to use taxi to conceal identity. Wanja and I have paid taxi guy.
We have recorded our conversation with him and he has admitted using the fund for other purposes.
All the preparation have taken 2 days.
