This is what happens to people who steal “Transformer oil”

A man’s body was found dangling from a transformer near Wamwari’s stage along Komarock Road in Nairobi’s Eastlands area. Elijah Gitau was reportedly electrocuted while siphoning oil from a transformer.

Nobody knew what exactly transpired as his body was found hanging by residents who had gone to the bus stop at around 4am. Police arrived 3 hours later and had a hard time controlling the large crowd that had gathered there. Gitau’s emotional brother was also at the scene.

Officials from Kenya Power eventually brought the body down. The incident interfered with power supply in the neighbourhood.
