MP Gideon Mwiti’s rape case has stalled. 10 Days later and no actions has been taken

10 days after an alleged rape incident involving him, Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti remains a free man. On Monday, the MP failed to turn up at the Parkands police station where he was expected for yet more grilling

Results for his DNA samples collected at the government chemist are also yet to be released further fueling concerns over the pace of investigations on the rape allegations case involving a former journalist. According to police sources, CID director Ndegwa Muhoro has recalled Mwiti’s file after he failed to turn up

Earlier, on Monday, police had quizzed the chief security officer at the Pizza Garden where it is said the victim spent some time with Mwiti

This comes even after the doctor who allegedly forcefully took a HIV test against the victim was charged in court for operating his clinic without a license. Dr Mwangi Muchiri was arraigned in Kibera court and was released on a Sh 100,000 bond. The case will be heard on the 21st of June.

On the same rape incident, Othaya MP, Mary Wambui, has said that women who get raped in the wee hours of the night should blame themselves for their predicaments. She said this during a fundraiser in Iriaini Girls secondary school.
