“SONKO RESCUE INITIATIVE” AMOUNTS TO MONEY LAUNDERING; Any development initiative must be sustainable;~ it must also have S.M.A.R.T goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Results-focused, and Time- bound) with the ultimate aim of letting the target community own and steer it.

The Sonko Rescue team is aimed at deifying (Worshiping) an individual and furthering his political ambitions, at the expense of real, sustainable economic development. It enslaves our youth, encourages dependence as opposed to self reliance.

Ask any development expert and he/she’ll tell you development initiatives must be owned by the target initiative and finally handed over to the target population.

While many will hail it as a noble initiative, I view it as a serious form of enslavement of the electorate in the name of poverty alleviation. It’s a shameless way of money laundering. It results in the enslavement of KENYANS to depend on handouts. It glorifies and defies an individual.
