Imenti Central MP Gideon Mwiti rapes woman inside his office
Hon Gideon Mwiti Irea, the MP for Imenti central, is being sought by police following allegations that he raped a married woman inside his office on Saturday night. The former journalist who is also the MP’s communication consultant at The Kenya Land Sacco- One of his business enterprises, was raped in Gideon Mwiti’s Westlands office.

According to the woman, Gideon Mwiti lured her in to his office for a ‘business deal’ meeting, after which a doctor by the name Dr Mwangi came in to the office and forcibly took her blood samples to perform a HIV test- to get her ready for what was to happen next.
“As we were winding up, a man came in and said he’s a doctor. He introduced him to me as Dr Mwangi, so I thought they had other businesses with Gideon Mwiti. He then removed a kit and said that he wanted to test us for HIV. I asked Gideon what was happening and told him that I was not going to take the test. When I picked my purse to leave, he grabbed my hand violently and started beating me”
“I heard Gideon telling one of bodyguards to lock the door from outside and make sure no one comes in. He beat me again and tore my clothes, he tore my blouse and my skirt, pushed me on top of his desk and raped me. He went on raping me and telling me to stop screaming since no one would come to my rescue” Narrated the victim
Her ordeal at the hands of Gideon Mwiti went on for hours despite the presence of his body guards outside the door. Eventually, an opportunity arose for her to run when one of his aides opened the door. “I ran outside and got in to a cab. I told the cab driver what had happened and I used his phone to call my husband”
Since the incident, the Imenti Central MP has called the family numerous times, requesting to settle the matter quietly. A senior police officer at the Gigiri Police station has confirmed the incident reported at the Parklands police station OB # 12. According to the police, the MP is being sought to record a statement.
The Imenti Central MP is well known to the woman’s family and a friend to her husband.
In 2014, the same Imenti Central MP was charged in a case where he was accused of promoting a pyramid scheme. He was charged with inducing by deceit and trickery 12 investors to put money in the Kenya Business Community Sacco that went down with Sh 780 million in 2008
