Austin Marathon: Hyvon Ngetich crawls her way to 3rd position

More than 15,000 runners from 40 different countries took to the streets of downtown Austin, USA on Sunday. But one runner, Hyvon Ngetich from Kenya, inspired and brought evreryone to tears when she collapsed and crawled on her arms many meters to the finish line

During an interview with Fox 7, Hyvon Ngetich said that she could not remember anything that transpired during the last two kilometers of the marathon. She also said that she does not remember crossing the finish line. If anyone helped her, she could have been disqualified

John Conley, the Austin Marathon director said that he has never seen any athletee do what Hyvon Ngetich- in his whole career of 43 years. He added that Hyvon Ngetich’s prize money will be adjusted so that she gets what she would have been awarded if she came in 2nd
