Nairobi Senator, Hon. Mike Sonko has done something that no other politician has ever done before. He has opened a call center for the Sonko rescue team. The call center which is in Nairobi’s CBD will go a long way in quick response to fire incidents and other emergency calls that require the attention of Sonko Rescue team
The senator has also purchased ATV fire fighting engines that can easily access even the deepest parts of Nairobi slums where the old NCC fire engines can not access. Asked whether he is doing this in readiness for the 2017 elections, Sonko said that he’s simply doing it to fulfill his 2013 campaign promises.

Sonko has said that his office is also in the process of recruiting more than 1,000 youths from all over Nairobi who will be handling the fire fighting equipment.

Mike Sonko has on several occasions said that he will be vying the Nairobi’s gubernatorial seat. Going by his ‘man of the people’ reputation, and the laziness of the current governor, most Nairobians say that they are willing to give Sonko a chance as their governor.
