New fuel prices for January/ February announced by ERC

The Energy Regulatory Commission has announced new fuel prices for January/ February 2015. As from Wednesday midnight, the price of super petrol dropped by at least 9 shillings, diesel by Sh 7.50 and kerosene by sh 5.78

This is the lowest reduction in fuel prices ever announced by the ERC in the last four years.

In , a liter of Petrol will retail at Sh 89.57, Diesel at Sh 80.06 and Kerosene at 62.84.

In Nairobi, a Liter of Petrol will be sold at Sh 92.88, Diesel at Sh 83.35 while one liter of Kerosene will be retailing at Sh 65.59

In Nakuru, one Liter of Petrol will be sold at Sh 93.61, Diesel at Sh 84.26 and kerosene at Sh 66.41

In Kisumu City, a liter of Petrol will be retailing at Sh 94.82, diesel at Sh 85.48 and Kerosene at Sh 67.43

The ERC director general John Ng’ang’a said that other than the drop in global oil prices, other factors that affect the prices have been favourable except the Shilling which has been weakening against the USD.

The Energy Regulatory Commission has also announced that come 14th next month, similar or higher reduction in fuel prices will be witnessed.
