Four-storey building COLLAPSES at Makongeni along Jogoo road
A 4 storey building situated in Nairobi’s Kaloleni estate near Makongeni police station along Jogoo road has collapsed. The Kenyan Red Cross has confirmed the incident.
Joint search and rescue ongoing at Makongeni after a building collapsed
So far, more than five people have been rescued and rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital. The Makongeni building collapsed around 2.am Wednesday morning
It is suspected that there are about 30 households trapped in the collapsed building. The building has only one exit and entrance making it difficult for victims to flee

General Service Unit officers are coordinating rescue operations with National Youth Service backed by rescue agencies.
The owner of the collapsed Kaloleni building was putting up the 4th floor which may have pressured the weak and poor architectural structure causing it to crumble.
