Students collapses and dies while preparing for her KCSE exams

There was grief and shock at Mumbi girls high school on Friday after a form 4 student in the school collapsed and died while she was preparing to sit a KCSE examination paper.

The Medical superintendent of Murang’a level 4 hospital Dr Dr. Charles Kigo said the girl was already dead by the the time she arrived at the hospital. The seventeen year old girl known as Elixabeth Wambui  collapsed and died a few minutes after taking breakfast. She was preparing to sit for the Biology paper 3 examination. She was rushed to Murang’a level 4 hospital only to be pronounced dead

The deceased was said to be bright and disciplined and the school was expecting her to perform excellently in the ongoing national KCSE examinations. One of the teachers at Mumbi Girls high school said that Wambui had a B in the mock examinations and they were expecting her to perform much better in the KCSE exams. He also said that she was one of the most disciplined girls in the entire school

The Murang’a level 4 hospital management have said that they will counsel the parents of the diseased before releasing the body for burial.

The death of Elizabeth Wambui brings to two the number of candidates who have been reported dead while sitting the 2014 KCSE examinations. On Monday, form 4 students sitting KCSE exams at Otieno Oyoo high school in Kisumu county were left in shock after a student, Austin Agumba, collapsed and died shortly after writing his paper
