Nyali Military Barracks: 6 machete wielding men killed, a KDF soldier injured as a gang of ten men attempt to break into the Baracks
A brazen attack on Nyali military camp on Sunday morning by a gang of about 10 machete wielding men forced the soldiers out of the barracks and in to the streets

This was a reaction to an attempt by the gang of about 10 to forcefully gain entry into the camp situated in Nyali as the soldiers mounted road blocks near and around the camp.
The attack on the Nyali Military barracks is said to have taken place early Sunday morning at around 5.30 am. Some of the attackers were armed with machetes. Soldiers on sentry duty repulsed them killing six instantly while others escaped in to a nearby forest with gunshot wounds. One soldier was however killed in the attack
Bodies of some of the attackers who had escaped in to the forest were recovered in the thickets while the whereabout of four others is still unknown.
In a similar attack on an AP camp in Malindi town, a group of about 10 youth attacked the AP post and attempted to set it on fire. The gang armed with guns and machetes and other crude weapons smashed 10 tuk tuks that were inside the police station
Its not clear who is behind the two attacks but security officials suspect MRC’s hand in it.
