Murang’a: Shock as Pastor is killed and his head placed in a sufuria

Residents of Iria village in Kahuti sub location, Murang’a county are in shock after one of them, a 64-year-old Pastor Bedan Mwangi was brutally murdered on Wednesday and his head placed inside a sufuria

The motive of the killing remains unclear with some of the villagers blaming apathy by the local police officers for the run away insecurity in the area. Bedan Mwangi’s body was discovered by a neighbor in the morning with injury marks inflicted by a blunt object.

Even more puzzling was  the fact that his head had been chopped off and placed inside a cooking pot in his kitchen. The heinous act has also raised suspicion that the attackers could have been members of the outlawed Mungiki sect. This has however been refuted with family members claiming that the late pastor had been embroiled in a land tussle with some relatives.

The diseased wife is said to have fled the from his home two weeks ago after a domestic disagreement. His son however disputed claims that the murder could be related to the dispute.
