The driver and conductor of a Githurai bus in which a woman was stripped and sexually abused, have been arrested
Drama unfolded on Thika superhighway when the anti-stripping police squad stopped a bus inside which a woman was allegedly stripped and assaulted by men.

A video footage of the incident shows the woman pleading with the attackers not to rape her or insert a bottle into her private parts. The bus that belongs to nazigi sacco was stopped heading to the city centre from Githurai. A driver and conductor of the bus were arrested to help police with investigations and identifying those who stripped the woman. The bus has been detained at the kasarani police station.
The anti-stripping squad with their colleagues from Kasarani police station are looking for more suspects who were involved in the incident.
At the Makadara law courts, five suspects appeared before principal magistrate Victor Wakumile over the stripping of a woman in Kayole.
The accused are Samuel Karanja, Zachary Gitonga, Kelvin Njuguna, David Kinuthia and Hosea Kasim who is deaf. The suspects could not plead to charges after the court realised Kasim is deaf and requires a sign language interpreter. They will be charged Friday with indecently assaulting a 23-year old woman in Kayole.
The prosecution says the suspects intentionally touched the woman’s private parts against her will along Mihang’o stage in Kayole on Monday last week. They were positively identified Wednesday by the victim as being part of a gang that attacked her on claims she was indecently dressed.

While launching a national policy on the prevention and response of gender based violence Thursday, president Uhuru Kenyatta condemned rising cases of domestic violence.
