Shock on Mudavadi: Tribunal stops Expulsion Of Khalwale and other UDF officials

The political parties tribunal has dealt a blow to Mudavadi as party wrangles threatened to tear his party apart. The tribunal has in the mean time stopped the expulsion of Senator Bonny Khalwale, Martha Wangari and two other national officials.

The officials were expelled at a national delegates conference on Monday. The tribunal has stopped the expulsion until a party dispute lodged with the party tribunal is heard and determined

The directive to the registrar of political parties also bars UDF from convening any meeting of its organs. This is after three party officials moved to court seeking orders to bar the registrar of political parties from effecting the decisions by Monday’s national delegates meeting. The group said the expulsion was a diversionary tactic by Mudavadi and senior party officials to evade disciplinary action

UDF secretary general, Abraham Limo who was also expelled has written to the the IEBC and the registrar of political parties indicating that Khalwale and the three other party officials were legally in office and were elected or nominated by the party.
