Kericho governor sued for child NEGLIGENCE. Mother wants Sh 158,000 every month

Kericho Governor Professor Paul Chepkwony has been sued for child negligence. The mother of the 3 year old child claims that the governor impregnated her while he was a lecturer at Eldoret’s Moi University.

The governor now joins a growing list of prominent Kenyans being dragged to court over child negligence claims. The middle aged women  wants the government to compel Chepkwony to undertake parental responsibility by providing for her three year old son she claims she allegedly sired with the governor

In the case which was file at the children’s court in Kericho, the woman claims to have cohabited with Chepkwony between year 2007 to 2011, a relationship she says led to the birth of the boy. At the time, the woman claims Governor Chepkwony was a senior lecturer at the Moi University’s Chepkoilel campus.

Her list of demands include Sh 30,000 for food and rent, Sh 20,000 for clothing, Sh 15,000 for medical expenses, Sh 8000 for a house help, Sh 15,000 for entertainment, Sh 10,000 for daycare center and another Sh 30,000 for miscellaneous expenses.

The woman who is in custody of the   boy at the moment says her son should be living a life fit for a governor’s son.

Other politicians who have recently been sued for child upkeep include Nairobi Senator Mike sonko, Homabay town MP Peter Kaluma, Moses Wetangula and former national assembly speaker Kenneth Marende
