Guyo Halake Shot dead- He was former Moyale MP

There was tension in Moyale last night after a former MP, Guyo Halake, was shot dead by unknown assailants in his home compound. The former MP died instantly after being shot 4 times in the chest.

The assailants stormed in Guyo Halake’s house as he was resting and chewing miraa. They opened fire and shot him 4 times. After the incident, angry members of the public started demonstrating and blocked the road stopping police from collecting his body

Guyo’s body was later removed from his home by clan elders. Before his death, Guyo Halake was a member of the Kaparo Peace Commission and Borana Council of Elders. The killers and the motive of Guyo’s murder have not yet been established
