Drama as Mututho raids bars in Iten town

There was drama in Elgeyo-Marakwet County’s Iten town when NACADA boss John Mututho and area governor Alex Tolgos raided bars and wines/ spirits outlets.

Some of the fun lovers who were in the bars fled on hearing that Mututho was in Iten town. Others were caught unawares by the NACADA boss who had with him several administration and regular police officers.

It was how ever very difficult to verify whether the drinks being sold were indeed illicit or not. Mututho took some of the bottles of spirits for analysis purposes

In one of the pubs, the owner stood her ground and insisted that she has never sold illicit alcoholic drinks and blamed her rivals for trying to sabotage her business by spreading rumors that she was selling illicit liquor.

Mututho carried out the raid after presiding the launch of new laws for control of alcohol in the country
