The story which has gone viral claims that the USA’s National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has actually confirmed that the earth will experience 6 days of darkness due to a Solar storm- the storm will cause a lot of space debris to obstruct the sun, hence, 90% of the sun’s light wont reach the earth surface. The said solar storm will be the largest in 250 years.
The total darkness will happen from 16- 22 December 2014 but the author of the story also adds that Earthlings should not be worried about such an incident because nothing major or catastrophic can happen during the 6 days. Humans will use artificial lighting for the few days and life will go back to normal on 22nd- the website claims.
But NASA has said that the “6 days of total darkness in December 2014” story is fake and its an iteration of a similar internet hoax that was doing rounds in several websites in 2012.
In 2012, another hoax claimed that the Earth would experience a “polar shift”, in which humans would have a dooms day experience.
