Another Nurse, Amber Vinson, contracts the Ebola Virus
Amber Vinson, a Nurse at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital has also contracted the deadly Ebola Virus. She is 26 years old.
Another Nurse at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Amber Joy Vinson has contracted the Ebola Virus.
There are reports that Amber Vinson flew from Cleveland to Dallas on Frontier Airlines the day before presenting ebola symptoms, according to CDC and Frontier airlines Frontier. This makes her the second nurse from the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital to test positive for the virus.
Just like Nina Pham, Amber Vinson might have contracted the virus to Thomas Eric Duncan, the Liberian man who was being treated at the hospital. He later succumbed to the virus. Its not yet clear how the two nurses contracted ebola, because they were wearing protecting gear
Officials at the hospital said that Amber Vinson started having a fever on Tuesday evening and was immediately isolated. The Ebola virus diagnosis was made Tuesday night after tests at a laboratory in Austin. A separate test was being performed by the CDC in Atlanta and was expected to confirm the first Texas test.
