The 6 people behind Karen Land Grab named by CORD

The CORD Coalition has named 6 people it believes are involved in the Karen land grab. Led by Bonny Khalwale, Johnstone Muthama and  James Orengo, the politicians said that the alleged grabbers should record statements with the anti corruption commission.

According to them, the six people involved in the Karen land grab are Deputy President William Ruto, Lands CS Charity Ngilu, Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero, David Kimaiyo , Ndegwa Muhoro and Senator Mike Sonko. Bonny Khalwale said the six public officials are the architects in the monumental and unprecedented land grabbing in Karen that defies the spirit of the new constitutional dispensation

The CORD leaders did not table any evidence implicating the six but said they have sworn affidavits and records from the lands ministry to show that they are involved. They also said that the government must hand over all land files and documents relating to the Karen land grab saga to the National Land Commission  for safe custody and investigation

The high court on Monday ordered OCPD Lang’ata to stop the construction on the property but days later, work is still ongoing at the site. The Law Society of Kenya has termed this as an unacceptable defiance of the Law. The  LSK further said its in the process of gathering evidence to prosecute the culprits.
